Making Ted Cruz Look Like a Fool, Really?

Here's another reason why I hate surveys and polls.
In a recently released survey, two-thirds of Americans said the Senate should have passed the bi-partisan compromise background checks bill that was defeated by a minority in the Senate.
Maybe those people should have called their Senators.

Stand On Principle

and mock the occasional squishy Senator.
The Wall Street Journal attacked the group for letting President Obama blame Republicans for blocking gun control instead of moderate Democrats. Cruz said senators made a similar argument: “They said, ‘Listen, before you did this, the politics of it were great. The [Democrats] were the bad guys, the Republicans were the good guys. Now we all look like a bunch of squishes.’”
He replied, Cruz told the crowd, “’Well, there is an alternative. You could just not be a bunch of squishes.’”

"Hey, PTR," (Texas Governor Rick) Perry posted on Twitter on Friday. "Texas is still wide open for business!! Come on down!"
Want. Want. Want. I would swear eternal allegiance to PTR rifles if they do.

I Haven't Decided On This One

If my instructors had skipped a few youtube videos the class could have been a couple of hours shorter. Take out time for fingerprints because that is done offsite now and I can see it. Go read it.

Reject, Reject, Reject!

In particular, AG Abbott states the treaty “fails to recognize the fundamental, individual right to keep and bear arms or the right to defend one’s family, person, and property” and “empowers a new UN bureaucracy focused on firearms restrictions that will be run by international bureaucrats who are not accountable to the people of the United States”.

Thanks Rick!

I'm wondering if I need to consider a carer change. Firearms manufacturing might be interesting. Suppose they'll have positions for someone with no machining experience outside of high school shop?
As debates over gun control intensify across the nation, Mr. Perry and some of his colleagues in the Texas Legislature are pushing to have more weapons of that sort made in the state. Mr. Perry said his office had sent letters to 34 different firearms and accessories manufacturers in other states, particularly where stricter gun and ammunition laws are being considered or passed, encouraging them to relocate to Texas.
I'm hoping we'll hear a thundering noise from manufacturers stampeding here soon.
“Gun manufacturers and people in that industry have been under attack by states who are threatening their Second Amendment rights,” (State Senator Craig) Estes said. “We want them to realize that Texas is open for business and Texas is a gun-friendly state.”
Come on down, indeed. Go read it.

Scathing

Don't tear down Ted Cruz within earshot of Mark Levin.
“Well, you know, ladies and gentlemen, there is a concerted effort to attack our dear friend Ted Cruz, the great senator from Texas, by all manner of miscreant malcontent lightweights,” Levin said.
Wow. Go read it.

Texas Politics

Here's an update on bills moving through the Texas legislature. Go read it. I'm particularly interested in HB 627. Thanks Matt Krause.
